The A and G shapes use the same string as the chord's root. That string is the G string. Quickly finding notes on the G string is critical to being effective with the A and G shapes in playing your guitar. Using the Demi-Circle to navigate your natural notes is the best way to become familiar with all the notes on your guitar.
